Hi Mike,
have you already seen the new video of the 2010 Opel Astra on ImSaturn? I also added new pictures of the car on my new album. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,
Opel

Thanks for the input Mike. I appreciate the response. We got scammed into cancelling our 60,000 mile Saturn factory extended warranty that we bought with our Outlook and purchasing an almost identical Ryan warranty for an additonal $1800.00. We feel we were suckered into this action when the Wolfe people pulled out of Saturn, We know this does not reflect the attitude and business practices of most Saturn dealers and we will think long and hard before we use them for service, let alone warranty work. We only wish the folks in charge of the Saturn dilemma had gotten the word out to the public sooner about warranties because we were quite happy with the one we purchased from Saturn with the Outlook. Would suggest if a new dealership is arranged, that loyal Saturn owners in the Kansas City area be notified as quickly as possible so we can continue with the excellent Saturn service and warranty work as necessary, Thanks again for taking the time to reply. "We've got your back" – I don't think so. If you did, somebody would offer to do something about the bad paint jobs that a lot of ASTRA drivers including myself are reporting. The extreme paint chipping within 1200 miles of normal highway driving (and only getting worse under the same conditions since it was first noticed) can't be explained simply as being due to "environmental damage." That shouldn't happen to a new car, and it never happened to my '94 SW1 which logged 305,000 miles before I sold it. I should have kept that car and bought a new car from a company that 1) paints their cars to offer greater resistance to the "environment" and 2) actually practices what it preaches as far as customer assistance is concerned and does not hide between warranty statements to avoid helping someone who is having a problem with their vehicle.

Thank you for the info, Mike. I suspected as much. Too bad the Astras weren't left alone (tuning-wise)--might have had a little more giddy-up.

Thanks Mike,

I wish Saturn would reconsider the diesel. Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Isuzu (think DuraMax) have some fine diesel motors and the diesels are in the neighborhood of 30% more effiecient than gasoline engines.

As for the legroom issue, I do not want some front wheel drive almost truck. I want a Sky. I would have bought the Sky when it debuted if I could have driven the car safely on a test drive. I was prepared to trade in my SC 2. The Sky is an awesome little car, or so I've heard. I may never know first hand.

Does anyone know what is going to become of Saturn with the Obama administration running G.M. now? Is Saturn going dissolve away or be run just like "Government Motors"?

Saturn builds a good car, I think.

Mike, will the 2009 Vue 2 mode have the updated monsoon 225 watt option or any type of upgrade stereo sound option?

Hi Mike,
I have a question for you.
Will the 09 Aura still have the front mounted "On Star" antenna,or will it be moved to the back like the Malibu.
Thank You...
Chris

Mike thanks for your comment but I am so disappointed with my car and the way I have been treated. My car is once again in for service on the same thing! 4 times is a charm?! I understand that every now and then a faulty anything is made. I work in retail also and have spent my fair share of time as a customer service representative. I am totally fed up. This is now the 5th time I have had to bring my brand new saturn in to be fixed. When is enough, enough? I thought your company was supposed to be so customer supportive? I got a lovely hat in the mail from saturn. I assume it is for me to wear while standing in the sun waiting for the tow truck to come and tow my ion back to the dealer for service. I am to the point now that I just want out. All I keep hearing is that it is still inder warrantee. Well that is great, however my car doesnt even have 5,000 miles on it! Was can't saturn just acknowledge that it is a lemon and fix the situation. I'm afraid to drive it anywhere besides work because I don't want to be stranded. Unless you can help me out, thanks anyway.

Thanks for your comments Mike. I guess my frustration is with what the previous generation Vue was and what is offered now. The amount of interior space has dropped and fuel economy hasn't improved on the non-GL models. Both deal breakers for me. The reports I had seen on the '08 GL's have indicated fuel economy very close to the previous generation Vue which leads me to question it's true potential as a hybrid. Like many, I want to have my cake and eat it too. Good fuel economy, ample space for 4, a roof rack for camping trips and comparable pricing. All I am saying is that I haven't found that in the '08 Vue and I found it in the competition's vehicles which disappoints me.

Mike, Meet Photos are up. Not many, but it's what I've got. This fall should warrant a larger turn out like last year did. Spring is hard for people around here to get out apparently, but it was nice having a small meet. More interpersonal interactions that way. We had a great time. BLUSKY (you can guess what he brought) drove all the way down from Kansas City, and plans on returning in the fall. The rest of us are local. Me (Sullivan), Jason (JRSTANGE)(Pacific), and Matt(waterboy) hang out at least once a month, so there's always something going on.

hello sir, thank you for responding to my message. the astra has a lot of potential. saturn should really go with the astra redline. hop up the hp to a minimum of 220hp. as far as styling goes. well, i have more than enough ideas circulating through my head. from body kits to lip kits, and spoilers. its a pretty well priced vehicle, which most of the younger generation would be interested in but, if there isnt much after market parts for it, people tend to have less interest in that vehicle. car enthusiasts like to show their personalities through their vehicle. and if there isnt much options, then there isnt much of a market for that car. so if my ideas will really go somewhere, contact me. im a good artist and i can design many after market parts that are trendy or that will become trendy. and we all know trendy = $$$. thank you for your time sir.

Mike,

I left you a comment on my 300,000 mile page regarding high mileage Saturns. I don't know of too many, but I do know of two other members on Saturnfans.com who have high mileage Saturn S-Series cars.

hi im michael, i have built 2 show cars in the last 4 years with no sponsors. ive put at the minimum of at least $30,000 iof my own money n the last 2 show cars. had both of them stolen. both cars are in my profile. one was all race and the other was all show. my cardomain link has my main altima in it. it has been featured in a couple of websites and ebay. now i bought the 2001 saturn sc2 because i recognize the great potential it has. im in the early stages of modifying it but i have huge plans for it. im hoping in the near future saturn realizes the the 3 door sc would be a great car to bring back. saturn is very reliable and has a unique style. stay updated with my mods. i plan to represent for saturns across the U.S. we need everyone to overcome the whole honda craze. thank you for your time Sir. hope to hear back with some feed back. oh yea, im in the works of becoming an automotive designer.
