Well, it’s official. The last Saturn SKY rolled off the production line on May 20, 2009. The white base SKY with tan top, was shipped to Rockford, Ill. We’ve got some special photos over in our albums.

If you’re a SKY owner, what’s your favorite SKY memory? We’d love to hear your stories.

Responding to todaresqSL2 - if u had so many fantastic cars and still think the "SKY" is that great, u have very good taste. Also, I didn't know it was built in Wilmington, DE. I have 07 Sky redline turbo blue-stone and I love it. Last car I bought was Crossfire and within 20,000 miles the rack & pinion went out. They said since it was a Mercedes part it would to 6,000 before labor or anything so I looked for something and saw the Sky on line. WOW, beautiful, powerful, great handling and just a dream come true. U seem to know lots about cars so please contact me at catkiss68@cox.net so I can find a new Saturn. Thanx, Sandra in OKC

When I win the lottery, the purchase of a Sky is on the list of wants. That is one attractive car - a real head turner! (My color is racing green in case someone is feeling generous)

What a shame. I enjoyed every moment of driving my Sky, ever since the friendly dealer dropped the keys in my hand. Bought mine in September 2007. Stilll got the thumbs up from a pedestrian, almost two years later.

1. The day I bought my '08 Sky RL! I traded in my '99 Miata for it (the car that gave me the roadster epiphany) for a car that was better than it in almost every respect (less the uber-core auto crossing events). I didn't think I'd be able to afford a car that made me feel like a million bucks, but thanks to Saturn and their jaw-dropping good looks and genuine performance that only a rear-drive, purpose-built machine like this can offer, I did.

2. Driving it through the windy roads of Bucks County, Pennsylvania to the beach-resort town of Ocean City, NJ.

3. Wrenching on the car myself whether it's installing a modification to enhance chassis stiffness or simply changing the oil.

4. Coming home after my GM Performance Parts Turbo Upgrade Kit was installed at Saturn of English Creek. I went from a 14.19s at Atco's 1/4mi. dragstrip down to 13.539s with JUST that modification. Win.

5. MECCA III, the Kappa (Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Opel GT and Daewoo G2X) "homecoming" in Wilmington, DE, where the car is assembled. I was in awe to see how the car is pieced together.

It's sad to say they will never be made again. I only purchased mine last month and it is the most beautiful car on the road. My boss owns a Mercedes SLK it does not come close to the look of my 2009 Ruby Red Redline SKY. I have never got so many comments on the road people look and pull me over to ask about this great looking car.

Dang! Sky is the model I was going to start saving up for! It was to be my "I'll never afford a corvette spyder but this comes close" car. :D

Seein the last Sky roll off the assembly line is a VERY sad day indeed!! Buying our 08' Sky Redline was something of a treat that my husband and I bought for ourselves afte our youngest graduated from college, and we enjoy our weekend routine of washing it inside and out and then taking it for a long drive. This is the 3rd Saturn that our family has owned, but our Sky is by far our favorite! Rarely does a trip go by that someone doesn't stop us and tell us what a beautiful car we have. It makes me sad to think that there are many others who will never get the same opportunity! This is truly the car of my dreams and only made possible because Saturn made it affordable. I hope that Penske will continue to earn our loyalty.

Why do all the great things go away??? I have an '07 Redline which was assembled in Wilmington, DE . The design, performance & workmanship are top quality so why not keep a good thing???? The other sad thing is having to put it away in October since I live in snow country...western new york. I plan to keep it until my next ride is a rocking chair!

It is a shame that the Sky/Solstice line is ending. I never owned a Sky because it was not a car that fit my everyday needs. I liked having such a choice available however on the chance that someday I might want a car just for having fun. I also enjoyed seeing them on the road and I believe they enhanced Saturn's overall image.

Martin LeVan: It was built in Wilmington, Delaware... not NC.
