Just got the news release! Sounds like a great combination. As a very satisfied Saturn owner, I am pleased to see the brand with its fine reputation and great service network being preserved.
Hope Russ was kidding. All the Aura is is a re-badged Opel Vectra if I remember correctly. Saturn died whe the S-Series stopped and GM stepped in and started rebadging everything
Russ, good riddance and I am sorry that you feel that way. Real Saturn owners are proud owners and will weather whatever comes our way. Apparently your dedication does not fit in with the profile of Saturn owners. I went to a Saturn owner's picnic last year and I was really comforted by the way those people love their cars! Some are on their 4th, 5th, or 9th Saturn. Very committed indeed. Sorry you feel that way. Your loss.
This seals the deal. My 2008 Aura is the first and last Saturn I will ever purchase. I bought it because it was a GM. I will not buy a re-badged car, pretending to be a Saturn. This is not the "Saturn Promise" I was promised. All I want to know is - who is going to cover my warranty? Do I have to continue to take to a Saturn dealer (many now closed, have to drive an inconvenient distance to get to one now), or can I still take to my local Chevrolet/Buick/Pontiac/GMC dealer as GM assured me a few months ago. Personally, I no longer want to have anything to do with Saturn dealers after this fiasco and will likely stick to Ford products in the future. Wishing I had gotten the Fusion about now....
What does it mean, though?I just heard on the national news a Penske spokesman say that this does not mean that Penske will be in the auto manufacturing business; they're doing this only for the distribution network. That doesn't sound like a guarantee, of any sort, that the Saturn brand will endure.
This is great news!! I love my Saturn! (My second...a VUE.) Many thanks to Mr Penske and all at Saturn. I look forward to many years of great business with Saturn. GM's loss is Penske Auto and Saturn's gain
Saturn is the reason GM has had sales since 1990. The GM people should be kissing Saturn's a$$ets because if you look on the roads today, the Saturns outnumber the other cars by far!
Great news!!!! Its nice to know that the great people at my Saturn dealer will have jobs and my ION will have a home for service. This is my second Saturn and so far it has been a great car- too bad GM made the dumb decision to stop making them. Now that Saturn looks to be free from the GM bean counters it should soar upward & onward. Thank you Roger Penske !
Love my 2007 Aura XE here. It's my 4th Saturn. Great news about the Penske deal. As I've stated before, this would be a super opportunity for Penske and the new Saturn to get the Spring Hill, TN plant back into the family. I see that Penske might work with Nissan/Renault. Nissan's North American Headquarters is just 15 miles away from Spring Hill in Franklin, TN. Nissan is planning a big rollout of electric vehicles next year. I'd love to able to purchase an all electric Nissan/Saturn built in is Spring Hill, TN!!!!
This is wonderful news! This makes my day and I want to hug Roger Penske! I will hug my Saturn Astra today.
In a world with a screwed up economy, this is some great news to hear!
Certainly a great reason to celebrate!
I'm proud to be a 2nd time Saturn owner.
