Like many of you, we on the Saturn Team were disappointed to learn a few weeks ago that the proposed deal with Penske Automotive Group had fallen through and that, as a result, Saturn would cease to exist as a brand. The news was disappointing to say the least, since it came just as we were gearing up to open an exciting new chapter in the Saturn story.
Here's what we can tell you: As a result of the Penske decision, Saturn is beginning a “wind-down” period. During this period, Saturn vehicles…

The reason I pose this question is because it seems that way now that Penske has dropped out of purchasing Saturn.
A little background first off. I own a 2003 ION, Now anyone that owns an ION hopefully is aware of the electric steering assist used across the Delta platform and how GM seems to refuse to acknowledge that it is flawed and a hazard in its current incarnation. I am on my second steering column due to its computer failing and having to replace the unit out of warranty. Coincidentally…

I for one saw this coming despite Penske being painted as the saviour of Saturn and I pray that each person who has lost half the value of their car in the past twenty four hours is somehow able to itemize their taxes to recover their losses. Good luck to each of you. I will be itemizing some of my losses($6500) for all three brand new vehicles I bought from Saturn in the past year and I will never again buy a new vehicle until I have it inspected independently. If you knew what this company put…

As a professional automotive related business consultant(car rental industry) for quite a long time, I would like to go on record to officially say that I don't think Penske was ever seriously considering purchasing Saturn from G.M.. I don't know what Roger would stand to gain by lending his good name to the dog and pony show used to restore customer confidence long enough to sell out Saturn's remaining inventory. I will however continue my investigation as a former abused consumer that lost a l…

One of the most common questions I field about my 2008 Saturn Sky Red Line is “That’s a Saturn?” Well, my standard answer, along with others that own one is, “Yes, it’s a Saturn”. So how did this Midnight Blue with black leather interior drop top come home with me?
For those that do not know me, I have been following Saturn since GM announced the development of a small car to compete with the likes of Toyota and Honda back in the 80’s. I read everything I could find about the project and what R…

I feel like my life has been changed forever having gone through an entire year of problems with three brand new cars and not even getting as much as an apology from Saturn. My retailer treated me like pond scum even though I had a great relationship with them with my 2004 Saturn Vue. None of what happened was my fault and I remain due compensation for eight oil changes and nine car washes which I will never see. It's kind of nice telling people about my experiences both with Saturn and my local…

Having learned first hand that GM is not the company they once were through purchasing three defective brand new vehicles in a single year. I actually think this might increase their ratings. My Hyundai accent has yet to be in the shop and it cost half of the GM cars I purchased. Something is wrong with that picture. I was a very happy long term GM customer up to July 2008, that's when they stopped caring about servicing their customers and admitting the problems with their vehicles. Most of GM'…

I have owned two Saturns the first a new Sky. Dont know how they could design a car that if you take a trip you had to buy new clothes since there was not any room to carry any with you, except a change of underwear. Then I purchased a new Aura XR loaded first one in our town. Nice, in fact I was going to trade up from the $28,500 car to a new one just like it 07 for a 08. But would you believe it they would only allow me $15,000 at one year old and 15000 miles. Now I dont know about you but I w…

Registration is coming up in August for my Ford Explorer. I need to replace my Missouri plates with Maryland plates. And I'm not sure if the SUV will pass or how much it will cost to make it pass. I've been very good about keeping my SUV maintained.
Valvoline Instant Oil Change loves me I'm sure. But now with the Cash for Clunkers program out there, I've been forced into making a quick decision.

Last week, we asked how many of our members know how to drive a manual transmission. We were a little surprised to learn that 78 percent of you were able to drive a stick shift. In these days of declining market share for manual vehicles, we thought that maybe driving a stick shift was becoming a lost art. For example only 5 percent of Saturns for the 2009 model year have manual transmissions.
And then we started to wonder just how you learned the fine art of handling a manual transmission.
I…

The Car Allowance Rebate Program – more commonly known as the "Cash for Clunkers" law – goes into effect today.
We already told you a little bit about the
law, which gives vehicle owners a rebate of $3,500 to $4,500 for trading in their current cars for new, more fuel-efficient ones.
ImSaturn members will be happy to know that five Saturn models are among the new cars included in the program. To make…

Saving Saturn
An audio commentary by Carol Coren, a current and long time Saturn owner
I was out west this spring and driving about in my vintage 2001 Saturn when I decided that it was up to me to keep the promise of America’s automobile industry alive – so I tried to a dealer owned coop to save Saturn. This was a dangerous moment as I had not been authorized by anyone involved in making, shipping, selling or storing Saturns. In fact, I have had nothing whatsoever to do with the car industry ex…

I’ve Had It
Have you eve been accused of something you didn’t do? And there’s no real way to prove that you DIDN’T do it?
I don’t think I’ve ever been this angry. I don’t cry often, I’m usually a pretty perky person but last night I sobbed. It’s over. My relationship with Saturn is so…

After working well for years, the window washer that sprays the rear window of my 2001 Saturn Station Wagon has quit working. I filled the little tank, but that was not the problem. Anyone have a quick fix or any suggestions as to what I might do to make it work again? (Besides taking the car to the Saturn dealer for repair!) Thanks in advance!.

Shortly after we got hitched last July, my wife Kate and I knew we had a big problem. Gas prices. With a gallon of regular floating around $4 at the end of the summer, the Chevy S-10 truck my wife would drive to work in each day was set to suck up more than its fair sh…

I just finished posting 3 galleries from the Button Willow RTA season opener! I may post a couple more as I retrieve the final pics. This was an awesome event, and even though my car was having a grip of power, fuel, and spark issues, our team still had lots of fun. As usual I was the only Saturn on the track. I hope to see at least 1 other Saturn at the Willow Sprin…
