The Astra's sold by Saturn in the US and Canada are tuned to run on regular fuel. There is no need for premium or even mid-grade.

Still have a tank of 93 that I got earlier this week and do notice an improvement in takeoff and throttle response, but about the same fuel mileage. It might do better if I could keep my foot under control. With gas going back up, I think this is the only "research" I will do for a while with gas. 87 seems to do just as good on fuel mileage in this car.
