Get used to this compartment not working. There is no long-term fix for the problem. Mine has benn "fixed" several times. I just stopped using the compartment and should probably glue it shut. The "push-pop open/close" design was replaced mid-year o…
I will say that I will seriously revisit the final Aura's at Saturn in 2011 or 2012, as my 2008 will likely be getting up there in miles. It will still be a great design, and I would buy another one. I just saw photos of the new (Opel based) 2010 Bu…
Rick - You are missing the point here. There is a big difference between GM "world car platform" engineering (and yes, it IS engineering to take a design and substantially modify/differentiate it for different audiences as GM does, say Opel for Euro…
Rob -
Do your own research my friend. Or are you insinuating I did not. Did I not say that the Aura design borrowed styling cues from the Vectra? And is build on the Epsilon platform. What I said was that the Aura IS NOT a rebadged Vectra (ie: manu…
Well, then you would be incorrect. The Aura was designed for the US market and does not share any primary components with the Opel Vectra. The styling may be similar, but after all the Opel is a GM product too, right? The body panels, frame, suspens…
Boy, what a bunch of Saturn loyalists to not realize that the Aura is NOT a rebadged Opel and is NOT based on the Malibu. The Aura is US designed and manufactured. The Aura was the 2007 car of the year, and the Malibu was the 2008 car of the year -…
This seals the deal. My 2008 Aura is the first and last Saturn I will ever purchase. I bought it because it was a GM. I will not buy a re-badged car, pretending to be a Saturn. This is not the "Saturn Promise" I was promised. All I want to know is -…
Hi Russ. Saw your post about your Aura. I don't have one myself, but I do share your sentiment. I only have S-Series Saturns (four of them, actually).
Since the Aura and Malibu are so similar, you could theoretically go to a Chevy Dealer to get service (even warranty service). I don't like the idea either, but it's an option.
I don't know what these fools are doing anyway... seems like they're doing everything to make the Saturn Brand fail. So frustrating.
