Well the Sky was my latest indulgence back in May, so I'm done with indulgences for the time being, however I do want a new camera. Right now I'm eying Nikon and Cannon SLRs. I'm leaning toward one of the versions of the Rebel at the moment. Of course that is subject to change.
Thanks, I was going to get the techno gray, but Chris (my salesman, second Saturn he sold me out of the three we own), parked the gray one I wanted next to the ruby red...
...well the rest is history. We (my wife Deb and I) are having a great time with our Sky. It does get a lot of looks and a lot of comments and questions.
I'll have to take a look at the Saturn360 article. Which issue is it in?
Like I said, you have a great eye for composition and a flair for light and shadow, too. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks for the prompt response the other night.....how was Myrtle Beach? Do you like it as much as Virginia Beach? I like the beaches on the Atlantic, but prefer the warmer waters of the Gulf of Mexico...the area around Seaside/Seagrove Beach, on the Florida "Emerald Coast" is probably one of my faves. I lived in Hawaii for 3 years while I was a naval officer, so that ranks right up there too, except for the distance!
I remember eating at one of the Legal Seafoods restaurants once when I was in Boston for a conference with my former employer, Paine Webber. While at dinner, I turned to my (then) wife and said, "hey, don't look now, but the guy sitting at the next table, is F. Lee Bailey." She didn't believe me, until she heard his dinner partner call him "Lee" during their conversation. The next day, while I was in company meetings, the wives had free time and she met up with another wife and ate lunch at the same Legal Seafoods location (right next to our Marriott Hotel) near the Aquarium. F. Lee Bailey was there AGAIN, having lunch...the waitstaff informed her that he loves to eat there whenever he's in Boston.
I haven't had the chance to try out "Awful Arthur's", but I'm sure it is probably good. There are some good seafood restaurants in Florida too--notably Landry's and Crabby Bill's, to name a couple.
It looks like I've already waxed a bit eloquent here, so I'll run for now...just curious as to how it was that you ended up moving from Boston to Roanoake (nice area, been there enroute to visit the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West VA.)?
I am currently shopping for a new digital camera (my SONY got stolen and I'm looking at some of the Nikon CoolPix models---if you have any suggestions, I'm open.....years ago, I had an Olympus OM-2 35mm SLR, but am more into aim and click nowdays).....
Marianne,
You are treated like an old friend at the Saturn dealership because you are gorgeous! Of course, they'd love for you to come back in. Anytime.

I'm a writer for Saturn 360 magazine, and we're looking for an owner to feature in our upcoming issue.
Would you be interested?
Please drop me a note at Skrause@gpworldwide.com, and we can chat about it. It's an easy process and most owners seem to get a kick out of it.
Hope to hear from you!
Thanks Marianne.
