Hey everyone, I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to show off the mileage we're getting from our 100,000+ mile Saturns. I have a feeling theres going to be some impressive numbers. To start my 2001 SC2 with 128,000 miles gets 45mpg h...
I've lost all respect and hope for GM, they've been a part of my family for decades. Not only did they fail us, they've failed the American people by making bullshit deals like this. They can rot in hell with all the money that was thrown at them.
Nah I never found out, all I did was go to a local muffler shop and asked them about putting a magnaflow muffler on it and they did. Thats all I had done, I guess the installing shop will adjust it to fit any pipe diameter.
Thanks man! Your SC looks very sharp as well, I love trhe S-Series models. Such GOOD cars :D
But I don't know much about glasspacks or what they make the car sound like exactly but the magnaflow gives it a deep V-6 or V-8 purr. Its perfect. Youtube should have some videos of all the different sounds these mufflers make, check on there.
Hey man, I drive an SL2 that I've fixed up. I added a magnaflow oerformance muffler and it sounds great! It makes a deep purring sound and does not sound like a FART machine lol. I too hate those. I figured you should get a magnaflow because the SL2 and SC have the same 16 valve Twin cam DOHC in them. Look into it man.
In 1999, which was 3 years after I purchased my Saturn SC1, Saturn issued a letter - not a formal recall concerning the tendency of bad headgaskets. They offered to repair this issue at no cost for 6 years or 100,000 miles. Unfortunately, my car could not be fixed obviously. It was replaced four times. On the fifth, regardless of my history, Saturn refused to pay for this again, they also refused to admit that my car was a lemon nor would they give me a good deal on a new Saturn. I resorted to the court system. Stupid Saturn sent attorney's against little ol me three times. The lawyer came from an office three hours away. In the end, the judge told me I should have gone for the lemon law eons ago. But I trusted these phonies at corporate. In the end they paid for the fourth headgasket and it was time for me to unload that POS. The only reason, I am on this forum, is to hope that some of these corporate morons realize that they should handle their customer's better. If they did, disgruntled Saturn owner's wouldn't be running to foreign cars. As for me, I'll enjoy a well built loaded Scion TC.
Yeah that would'nt be a bad idea. The factory air intake is quite restrictive, so not only will you have a slight, probably unnoticeable, power increase you will have see slightly better gas mileage.
