The smaller engine has to work harder to maintain highway speed. I have the V6 AWD, and I averaged 30mpg @70. In fact, noticed the tachometer @ that speed and it barely changed the few times I was going 80.

Yes I am using the cruise control. I always use the cruise on the highway. I use the cruise control on my 2005 and got 30 mpg at 70 mph. The 2008 shifts on every little grade and only 22-23 mpg on the highway. Thanks

- I like the Vue to tow behind my Motorhome. It is easy to enter and exit. My complaint is the fuel mileage. Saturns fuel statement said 19-26mpg. My highway mileage on cruise for 800 miles interstate driving at 70mph was 22mpg. My 2005 vue with 4 cyl.& auto, produced 30 mpg hihgway at 70 mph. I am very dissatisfied. The 2008 is constantly dropping 1 or 2 gears at the slightest grade. No way can it attain any acceptable mpg. I understand that the 2009 does not do this shifting, whats different? what can be done for my 2008? I have just purchased the vue and looked hard to find the equipment that I wanted and drove 800 miles to get it. It is under warranty with 24,158 miles. Thanks Donald
