I would like to take this opportunity for all the assistance Saturn has given me in relation to the structural and mechanical defects that exist in my new $27,100 Saturn Vue XR. After this latest series of issues, my next car will not be a Saturn nor any other General Motors product. I have also taken the liberty of advising everyone I know in the automotive rental industry about my experiences with your dealers and your corporation. I will personally sway all franchised rental car loctions I do consulting work with to avoid fleeting GM products. Thanks so much for working with me and for the two free oil changes for the thousands of dollars in defects and several months out of my valuable time due to the simple fact that my car is defective from the bottom up. I switched from 235/65 to 215/70 on tires, that cured the squirrellyness on my 2005....
farther down is a comment about lack of power on the 4 cylinder/5 speed....The only time I have ever experienced this with mine, I had 4 200+lbs people in the car....
Hopefully on the newer ones they have figured out that the windshield washer squirters go on top of the hood. mine get buried in the snow and ice, when you need them most, they don't work.. they have been frozen for 4 days now.....

Trudy - when I bought my 2006 FWD I was very disappointed by the traction in the snow and rain. Then when my tires began to wear I went to www.tirerack.com and saw that a lot of it had to do with the tires (based on comments from other owners with the same tires). I replaced them with tires that had the best wet/snow traction rating and it has seemed to make a difference. If your Vue does not perform well I would start by looking at that web site and see what others are saying about the tires you have. Good luck!

Just recently purchased a 2008 Vue Hybrid. It was used with only 4100 miles on it. We haven't had the chance to drive it too much yet because we're still trying to sell our other car so we've been using it instead. Hope we won't mind the FWD. So far all we've owned for many, many years has been either AWD or 4-wheel drive. After reading a few of the comments on here, I'm a little concerned. Happy New Year everyone!

Kind of quiet in here.. I am the owner of a 2006 Vue 4cyl 5 spd std which I have enjoyed. I can see why they got rid of the 4 cyl - just not enough power. Going up a steep hill you have to hit turbo mode (turning off the A/C) and hope that you get to the top before you get to first gear! On the other hand I love the 28 mpg I get in combined highway/city driving. I have also been annoyed by the lack of an AC-off button so that you can aim air in whatever direction you want. I would really like to talk to the guy at Saturn that decided that air aimed at your feet is an A/C mode - come on, I understand defrost but my feet really don't need to be cooled with no off option! But overall I do love the car and look forward to buying a plug-in soon...

I've had similar issues with my heat/AC. Once in a while it seems to get 'stuck'. In the summer, I'd turn it on AC and if I got too cold, I'd dial it down. It didn't seem to change the temperature, so, I'd turn it down a bit more (into the warmer zone) and next thing I know, the heat's on. So, I'd go back to the cooler side and wooops - it just kept getting warmer....and warmer. It stayed that way a few times the entire trip. Once I turned the car off and started it back up, the climate control seemed to work again - but boy, nothing like having your heat blowing at 85 degrees when it's 90 degrees outside! I had it into the Saturn Dealer a couple weeks ago and they couldn't reproduce the issue. It's been a couple months since it has done that - but I sure don't want it to do it to me in the dead of winter and have it stuck on AC.

I just traded in both my 2008 Saturn Astra xe 5spd with 1800 miles on the clock and 2004 Saturn Vue for a 2009 XR V6 Vue in deep blue with chrome alloys. The Astra looks great and the body is structurally well put together but, the 1.8 standard shift driveline proved to be too problematic for me and after so many annoying issues I decided to step up to the plate and spent a lot more money to avoid more issues with my Astra. I have been so sad since this past Saturday thinking about my 2004 Silver Vue 5 spd with 95K one owner pampered miles. Life must go on and I must say that I am impressed with power of the 3.6 liter engine with the six speed auto. I still find myself stepping on the brake with my left foot on start up. I am far too used to manual transmission and I will have to learn to adjust as they no longer make the manual transmssion for any of the vues. I can only hope my 04 vue finds a good and responsible owner that will treat her right. Please keep us posted on your Vues and experiences with your car/suv! jason and family

Unfortunately no standard transmission planned for 2009. Initially the 5 spd option was coming the second half of 08 but that never happened. In the meantime Ford started selling 5 spd Escapes....

I just read that the Chili Pepper Red is back for 2009!

Read all the planned changes at the attached link.

http://media.gm.com/us/saturn/en/product_services/r_cars/r_c_vue/09index.html

New for 2009 Exterior colors: Quicksilver, Gold Mist Metallic, Aquamarine, Chili Pepper Red

That is an awesome color and stands out so much better than the current faux red, which is really burgandy.

We purchased a 2008 Vue XR in December and we absolutely love it except for a few problems we have been having lately. There seems to be some sort of malfunction with our A/C and heat. First, it would only blow on the feet and would only blow out cool air. We took it into the dealer where they replaced the unit and it worked fine for a week or two and now it will only blow cold air from the top and nothing out of the feet. Anyone else having any similar problems??
