You can use the Opel antenna, GM part number 25805645. It's considerably shorter than the Sky antenna, looks factory, and pickup is not negatively affected. It's not a stubby, though.

Joe, I'm glad you mentioned the antenna. I'll have to keep that thought. I unscrew mine to put the cover on. I did notice it does come loose easily.

Not the short antenna on the middle rear, thats the onstar/gps/xm antenna. The AM/FM antenna is the really long one on the edge of the trunk on the right side. I replaced my super-long antenna with a shorter aftermarket one and got a very distinct wind noise that sounded like the top was leaking air, but it was the antenna. If your dealer is so far away, it may be worth unscrewing that long antenna yourself and drive around a few minutes to see if you still hear that wind noise. A $9 antenna mast might save you the hour's drive. :-)

Gayle the passenger side noise may be the antenna - did you by chance replace the long stock antenna with any aftermarket "short" antennas? I did and got a lot of passenger-side wind noise until I found a shorter antenna that didn't whistle.

As for reliability, my 08RL is 7 months old and 17k miles on it, and it's been in the shop for upgrades and oil changes and so far nothing else.

Hi Gayle, I'm curious to what kind of problems you are having? I've had my 2008 Sky Roadster (2.4L) since August, but now I have it parked for the Pennsylvania winter. I did get to drive it a little bit before our first snow and only have over 300 miles on it. My dealer is an hour away as well, so I'm hoping I don't have any issues once the weather warms up.

Goodness.... I haven't posted in so long.... My SKY (SNOW WHITE) has been at the dealership for a couple of weeks. She is getting her bushing fixed again. Ugh... 3rd time for this. Been driving a Saturn Vue and I like it. It handles well in the too. Tomorrow I pick up snow white. Yahoo I miss her. Happy Holidays everyone... T.

The Saturn Sky does garner a lot of attention when driving it. I only get looks. Now my wife driving, people will approach her all the time yelling nice car,.. what kind of car is that?

She took our niece for a ride who of course was taken back by it since she is under 10 and knows not to talk to strangers. A guy on the corner at a red light walked off the sidewalk to ask about the car.

I have the full Sky cover. It fits perfectly and I have it on in the garage as I park the car for the winter. I wish it had more padding underneath, but I understand that is for breathability. It does seem pretty durable.

When will the new Sky ECM Tune be available from GM? It was suppose to be here "in September!"
