TO JERRY LANE, have you recieved a letter from you Saturn ? I have recieved a letter from my Saturn Dealer in Hickory North Carolina and they forwarded me the Letter from Jill Lajdziak the General Manager for Saturn. Go to www.gmfactsandfiction.com. It explains all whats going on with Saturn and GM.
Or maybe you should have bought a "Ford" ? Maybe you should be better informed ?

I think I made a mistake. The dealer I bought my 2008 Astra from has just packed it in. So the nearist dealer is over an hours drive away. GM is ending Saturn in 2011. I wish I had bought a Ford

I am new here being a Saturn Astra owner. I traded my 2005 Monte Carlo SS for the 2008 Astra this past June when gas prices were well over $4. I also own a 2006 Saturn Vue, which my wife drives and loves. I told myself I would never own a small vehicle again, well that didn't work, I love the Astra. I have the 3 door SE. I bought the Astra in Hickory NC but live in Northern NY, not thinking I bought the Astra with the strickly summer tires. SOOOOO! now I have my Astra in winter Storage. But thats ok, This spring I get to drive her to NC :-). I love the gas mileage I'm getting, ( 36 hwy, 27 city ), and love the handling and the 5 speed manual.
I notice a post below talking of the Vauxhall, my Dad owned a Vauxhall when I was a kid, I'll try and get a pic of it and post it.
Hope to see you all again soon.

Has everyone seen the Canadian site for the Saturn Astra. It's absolutely beautifully done! Here is the link if you would like to visit it.

Hey Saturn Astra owners, I would love to read about some of your road trips. I took my Astra across the state of Florida yesterday and the rain sensing wipers really came in handy during some heavy rain storms. The LOC function on the stereo kept me up on the best radio stations as I drove and I even honked the horn on those lonely stretches of road and "mooed" at some cows. I now have 1500 miles on my Astra and am looking forward to owning this car for a long time. My 2004 Vue Fwd 5spd has been a very good and reliable vehicle and I hope my 08 Astra XE 5spd continues in its footsteps. I have seen only a few Astras on the road since I bought mine and I hope the word gets out so we start seeing many more soon. Thanks to Saturn and Jill for keeping us customers happy with new and exciting products. Now get out there and moo at some cows already!

Hi there guys,

Greetings from the UK (although I'm in California at the moment!) I'm the proud owner of a Vauxhall Astra and saw my first Saturn Astra in the flesh the other day.

Back in the UK we get a much better range of engines than you do over here, which is a shame for you. Mine's the top of the range 'Astra VXR' - It comes from the factory with a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine which produces 237BHP (at the flywheel) but I've had mine remapped to produce 265+BHP.

If anyone needs more information for stuff that's available from the UK/Europe for these great cars, here's a forum that I'm a member of over there. It's full of friendly and helpful Astra owners who I'm sure would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Come along and join, we're a friendly bunch!!

Graham.

I've finallyseen another Astra. :-)
While on a business trip to Austin a few weeks ago at a restaurant parking lot. The people I was with thought I was pretty weird. (well, actually, they probably thought that before I freaked out over the Astra. Icing on the cake, I guess.)

Anyone have problems with their dealer? I have had nothing but problems with the one in Tulsa, Ok. I have had the car for five weeks and only drove it 390 miles. I can't get the dealer to fix anything.

Do any of you know if you can get an upgrade Nav system to replace the "DOS" screen?
