The cup holder feature is lacking and I can deal with that, but I absolutely LOVE the snap in car mats! Maybe we won't have the problems that those Prius mats are creating!

This is a "grey market" import from Europe. Europeans do not flat-tow their vehicles, use XM, use iPods, or need lots of cupholders. Check eBay for a good RF modulator for you player...they ARE out there!

I'm really PO'd that there is no MP3 jack on this thing. What a bummer...even my buddy's 2008 Jeep has a jack input for the MP3. I wish they had thought out all of this. And I'm SICK OF MILITARY TIME on my Astra's clock!!! Does this bother anyone else??

I like my Astra, but not having gauges bothers me. Has anyone installed Sunpro gauges on their Astra? Any leads would be appreciated.

I have leads on Sunpro, but little information on Astra details. I don't want to try to do any mods until I have a service manual. Regarding a service manual - can't find one. The Saturn dealer gave me a lead on the hardcore shop manuals - but these are way expensive (even on DVD). So I was thinking of buying an ASTRA H manual from Europe. I know there are a few differences - any experience out there?

Thanks for any information.

I am wondering about hooking up my iPod directly to my stereo system. I had one of those crappy fm tuner things, and it turns out there are too many radio stations in my area for that to be a good option. I see there are adapters I can get, but is this something I can (or my husband can) do myself? Or is this better left to a professioal installer?

Sorry, typo...I mean TURTLE WAX! Geez, it's been a long day!
Rikki Kirchner Comment by Rikki Kirchner on August 10, 2009 at 5:06pm
Turtle Was ICE, paste or liquid is great. I use this on my 2008 Astra (twilight blue) and my 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle (a show car). Easy to use (but do it in the shade)...and there is little or no dust. Be sure to use a microfiber towel and let it dry before removing the wax. Don't wash the car with harsh detergents...Usually cold water and a soft cloth works best.
Good luck! :-)

im 19 years old, ima car guy, i work on cars, i love cars, moreso i love saturn, my first car was a 1995 geo tracker which i do miss, maybe one day ill get another one just for winter driving and keep my astra safely tucked away in the garage from the harsh nj winters. After i got into a bad accident and totalled the geo, i gotta 2000 Saturn SL1 with the 3500 i got from insurance, and i also added in another grand. it had 35000 miles on it and it was in beautiful condition. i absolutley loved it. second day i had it, i already had a head unit put in. other modifications include, intake, exhaust, sound system, and rims. the transmission went twice on it, first time being my stupidity as a 17 y.o driver, second time was fate. one month after i got my car back from the shop afgter the second trans went, i saw the astra and i had to have. march 5, 2009 is the official date of the day i got my Astra. i absolutely love it and everyday i love it more. i go to lincoln tech and all the ricers here always joke that i drive a saturn, then i took them for a ride in it, they dont talk shit anymore, they respect it. the only thing they have to say is about the tiny 1.8L i4, but i wanna turbo it once the warranty is up and wen i get enough money.

I've put 5k on mine in a month - no issues with the brakes, and my gas mileage has improved. I have an automatic, and yes, it does shift into neutral when you are stopped and on a level road. It goes back into gear when you take your foot off the brake, and there is a slight delay so you have to get used to that a little. I do notice it is a little slow off the mark, but not with the AC off.
