The L-Series - based on the Opel Vectra from Europe.

The L-Series was a little more North-Americanized than the newer Aura, but they both share European roots. I like the handling and ride of the L-Series, it has surprised me how well-planted to the road it is. Mechanically, my 2003 LW300 has been flawless. I wish I could say the same about the electronics, but I guess there's no such thing as a perfect car.

Its good to see Saturn expand the idea of sharing platforms with Europe where both sides of the Atlantic benefit.

Here its sunny and warm in Ottawa +16 Celsius. That engine in your video sounds pretty sweet. I wish my 3.0 V6 sounded that good. Our other car the Saab doesn't sound that good either.

Hey what's up guys? How is the weather where everyone is at? Finally no snow here in the Chicago area so went out today for my first run of the year. Got the HP Tuners Software and had my cam gears adjusted. Watch my 4 videos in order of date from day 1 to today and you can see how much faster the car is now. It is unreal that there was at time it took me 9.8 seconds to get to 60...I can ride my bike faster than that. Tell me what you think.

Hey Glen:
I would still test drive the Aura though if I was looking. It didn't win Car of the Year in 2007 by accident. You'll probably get a good price too. Just make sure there is more than one dealer near you for servicing. I guess if Saturn closes down, then GM assumes the warranty obligations, so you would have to take it to the local GM dealer instead. (Not sure that is good)
I've been hearing some good things about Hyundai. I did happen to rent a Sonata a couple of years ago and I was very impressed with all the bells and whistles on it, I didn't think it held the road as well as our LW300. The ride was softer in the Sonata. The Sonata was superior in road noise, comfort and fuel consumption. Definitely good value for the money. The L is getting a little long in the tooth now, so maybe its not fair to compare them, but Hyundai makes a good car.
Hyundai was here in Canada (1984) before they moved into the US market and the first car they had was called a "Pony" and it was ugly, dirt cheap, but very practical and they sold a lot of them.

Struts as in suspension I assume? I had to have one of the tie-rods replaced on my LW300 a couple of years ago. It wasn't an expensive job. About $300 including all taxes and labour etc. in Canadian dollars of course. That's about $1.95 US. (Just kidding) probably about $250 US I think.
I haven't had any problems with the power steering. It could be something as simple as it needs more power steering fluid. Might be a good idea to check it, or get whoever services your car to do it.
No worries about the SW2 thing. I suspected that's what you meant. We had a 95 SW2 before we bought the LW300.
