Last weekend I bid a fond farewell to my trusty Astra. I decided to trade it while the value was still up and buy something more in tune with my current needs. The Astra was a fine car but both it and the Saturn Brand have been abandoned here in t...

Update on Saturn's Status

Like many of you, we on the Saturn Team were disappointed to learn a few weeks ago that the proposed deal with Penske Automotive Group had fallen through and that, as a result, Saturn would cease to exist as a brand. The news was disappointing to say the least, since it came just as we were gearing up to open an exciting new chapter in the Saturn story.

Here's what we can tell you: As a result of the Penske decision, Saturn is beginning a “wind-down” period. During this period, Saturn vehicles… Continue

Flying High In The Sky

One of the most common questions I field about my 2008 Saturn Sky Red Line is “That’s a Saturn?” Well, my standard answer, along with others that own one is, “Yes, it’s a Saturn”. So how did this Midnight Blue with black leather interior drop top come home with me?

For those that do not know me, I have been following Saturn since GM announced the development of a small car to compete with the likes of Toyota and Honda back in the 80’s. I read everything I could find about the project and what R… Continue

Second Time to Cross the 100K Mark

I just crossed the 100,000 Mile mark with my 2005 Saturn Vue a couple of weeks ago. I also went over 100,000 with my first Saturn, a 1999 SW2. Boy, am I sad to see the Saturn brand disappear.

My Aura Saved My Life - Part 2

Seven days after the accident, almost to the minute, my fabulous Saturn dealer Dale Newman delivered my 2009 Saturn Aura to my home! I can never say enough about Dale and all of the others who work at Saturn of Ann Arbor, from the owner, the service people, to the man who polishes each and every car! Isn't my new car beautiful? And yes, I will feel very safe driving it!

Stopped by a stranger... again..

Got stopped by a stranger again today. This actually happens quite a bit. This time it was an Infinity owner, looking to trade in his Pathfinder clone. I pulled in a parking lot behind a building I was working at. He chased me across a busy street to ask me about it. Kind of cool, he was surprised it was a Saturn. He thought it looked much more expensive inside and out, than say a Toyota, more like a Lexus or his Infinity. The last time this happened the guy was a Real Estate broker unhappy with… Continue

Habitat for Humanity keeps up the great work

You might remember a while back Lisa Gilpin posted about Saturn's work with Habitat for Humanity here in Detroit. Well, Habitat is back at it again in Detroit with a housing blitz this week in the same community Saturn helped out in and we couldn't be more excited.

To learn more about Habitat for Humanity and how you can get involved, check out their… Continue

Super duper service

That mini cell phone holder on extreme left end of dash was open and wouldn't stay closed. I called dealer this morning and he told me to hold while he checked to see if they had the part. Came back on phone and told me to bring car over around nine. Did so and they took car right in. After a little less than an hour Sve. Mgr. came out and handed me my keys and told me I was set to go. Now that's the way to keep customers happy. I guess that's what they mean when they say "Different kind of car,… Continue
